Dr. Wayne Fisher, Founder of Rockdale Innovation, has spent the past four years helping to introduce Open Innovation best practices to a cohort of over 20 organizations in a collaborative program sponsored by the Scottish Government.
The objective of this webinar is to share some common barriers to adoption of Open Innovation and provide practical tools for OI Implementation. The webinar will cover (1) an Open Innovation Readiness assessment tool to be used with leadership teams (2) a proven Open Innovation Roadmap and Workbook that has been applied to dozens of OI Challenges and (3) a detailed Open Innovation case study and lessons learned from the marine industry.
Participants will receive an electronic copy of the assessment tool and workbook to apply back in their organization.
About Wayne Fisher
Wayne Fisher, PhD, founded Rockdale Innovation after spending 27 years as an R&D manager at Procter & Gamble. While at P&G, Wayne created a series of popular innovation workshops for all phases of new product development. He has trained thousands of managers, providing a common language and framework for innovation, fostering collaboration across P&G’s diverse business units and regions. Prior to retiring, he served as a full-time innovation consultant and Creative Problem Solving facilitator at The GYM, an IDEO-inspired design studio in West Chester that remains a key enabler of P&G’s innovation capability.
Wayne was an early pioneer in the use of Open Innovation at P&G, serving as the first Technology Entrepreneur for their Family Care business. He developed and championed the use of The GYM’s Effective Problem Definition process, which helps scientists and engineers describe their technical challenges in a way that makes it easy for internal and external experts to offer up novel solutions. He is a sought after trainer, speaker, and writer on the topic of innovation best practices, including the chapter, “Applying the Creative Problem Solving Process to Open Innovation” for an upcoming book published by Oxford University Press.
Wayne is also active in the Product Development and Management Association, where he serves on the Outstanding Corporate Innovator award selection committee. He is Past President of the Tri-State Chapter. Wayne received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, and has been granted 18 US patents.
