Dr. Wendel is a behavioral scientist who studies financial behavior and how digital products can help individuals manage their money more effectively. He serves as Head of Behavioral Science at Morningstar, where he leads a team of behavioral scientists and practitioners to conduct original research on saving and investment behavior. Stephen has authored two books on applied behavioral science, Designing for Behavior Change and Improving Employee Benefits, and founded the non-profit Action Design Network, educating the public on how to apply behavioral research to product development with monthly events in ten cities. Allan Anderson, NPDP, Professor of Product Development and Director of Marketing, School of Engineering and Advanced Technology, Massey University, PDMA Chair
Allan graduated from Massey University, New Zealand with a BTech(Food) degree and PhD. His career to date has included a mix of university teaching, consulting and general management. In the early 1980’s Allan lectured in product development at Massey University and was actively involved in establishing a major in product development under the B Tech. From lecturing, he moved to 9 years of consulting, specialising in product development project management and product development management practices. In the mid 1990’s Allan moved to the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute where, in 1997, he was appointed as Chief Executive, responsible for the $40million R&D investment and around 350 staff. He is currently Professor of Product Development and Director of Marketing for the School of Engineering and Advanced Technology at Massey University. Allan was part of the establishment team for PDMA-NZ in 2007; was president of PDMA-NZ until December 2011; has NPDP certification; is an accredited NPDP training provider; was elected as Vice President Asia-Pacific in 2012; became a Director in 2015; and, is currently a member of the Outstanding Corporate Innovator Award selection committee.
Phillip Anthony, President, Design Integrity, Inc.
Phil Anthony, P.E., is an expert in the field of new product design and development (NPD), with over 30 years of experience in the field. He has personally managed cross-functional teams that developed and launched dozens of successful new mechanical and electro-mechanical products for various employers and clients. His expertise in the NPD field includes innovation facilitation, business and engineering management, project and team management, marketing, business strategy, electro-mechanical systems, machine design, problem solving, design optimization, DFMA, FMEA, quality, testing and reliability. Over his career, Phil has worked on a wide range of products including medical devices, industrial equipment, consumer products, and power tools. One of the ground-breaking products that Phil managed from proof-of-concept to production was the Snap-on CT30 cordless impact wrench set, which sold in record numbers, paved the way for Snap-on’s cordless power tool line, and was the most reliable power tool in Snap-on’s history. Another ground-breaking project in Phil’s project management portfolio was the Breuer Tornado Marathon carpet extractor, which won multiple major design awards, was awarded multiple US patents, and allowed Breuer (since acquired by Karcher) to strengthen its market position. Phil has been awarded 14 US utility patents and numerous national design awards. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Illinois, and he has served as an expert witness on several cases involving product design, patent prosecution and infringement, and trade secrets. After 8 years in the corporate world and 3 years in design consulting at HLB, Phil founded Design Integrity, Inc., an NPD consulting firm in Chicago. His firm develops new products and innovations for clients in the medical, industrial, consumer and automotive/aftermarket industries. Design Integrity is an award-winning design firm with products that have been profiled in the MDEA, ID Magazine, Appliance Design, Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, Design News, and Plastic News.

Sudhi Gulur is the Solutions Product Manager in the Commercial Aviation Services Business Development organization in Boeing Global Services leading digital solutions through the new product development lifecycle and enabling innovation and operational efficiency for commercial aviation customers. Previously he was the solutions manager in in the Digital Aviation organization. Prior to joining Boeing, Sudhi worked for Dassault Systèmes and led new product development of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions for the aerospace, automotive, structure, shipbuilding and architecture and engineering construction (AEC) industries. Currently her primary focus is leading Insights for the Personal Safety Division, the largest division at 3M. Pam lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two teenage boys. In his current role, Gabriel is responsible for the discovery & development of new products and services, from whitespace to delivery of commercial grade offerings that solve client problems, as well as continuous improvement of the process, methods and tools used throughout development. He sits on IPM’s innovation management team and Product Development Center of Excellence. Gabriel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies from the U.S. Air Force Academy, an MBA in Leadership from Liberty University, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
