Journal of Product Innovation Management
The Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM) is an interdisciplinary, international journal that seeks to advance our theoretical and managerial knowledge of innovation management and product development. The journal publishes original articles on organizations of all sizes (start-ups, small to medium sized enterprises, large corporations) and from the consumer, business-to-business, and policy domains. The journal is receptive to all types of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, as well as conceptual articles. Authors across the world from diverse disciplines and functional perspectives are welcome to submit to the journal.
JPIM Research Forum
The 2020 JPIM Research Forum is set to take place virtually September 18 & 19, 2020.
PDMA Doctoral Consortium
The goal of the Consortium is to enhance the development of doctoral students who are conducting dissertation research in the domain of innovation and new product development. Students accepted to the Consortium will be honored as Doctoral Student Fellows and have a unique opportunity to network and share ideas with leading innovation scholars and corporate executives.
Academic Research Initiatives and Competitions
Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition
The grant from the competition is intended to support the recipient’s dissertation research. The aim is to support doctoral students to develop original and impactful research on innovation and new product/service development.
Global Student Innovation Challenge
The Global Student Innovation Challenge is unique in that it encourages and supports students developing novel, real-world offerings, that include products, software or services.
Research proposals for accessing PDMA members for study participation should be sent to the Vice President of Academic Affairs before March 1 or October 1 of every year. The proposal should be no more than 12 pages (double spaced), with the survey instrument attached (not counted toward the page limit). If the method is other than a survey, the instrument should be attached (e.g. interview protocol for depth interviews or instructions and stimuli for an experiment).

Fellows are selected in recognition of superior and unique contributions that have advanced the state of professionalism in the discipline of new products management through direct contributions of knowledge, service, practice and stature in the field of managing product innovation.
Thomas P. Hustad Best Paper Award in JPIM
The Hustad Award recognizes the best overall paper published in the Journal of Product Innovation Management during the most recent calendar year. Winning papers reflect both exceptional academic rigor and great relevance for managers.
JPIM Albert L. Page Award for Outstanding Professional Contribution
The Albert L. Page Award is a special achievement award made occasionally in recognition of deserving articles that make an extraordinary contribution to advancing the state of research in the new products management profession.
JPIM Abbie Griffin High Impact Award
This award recognizes the Journal of Product Innovation Management article published 5 years prior to the award date that has made the most significant (i.e., fundamental, far-reaching) contribution to the theory and practice of innovation management.
JPIM Best Reviewers
The Journal of Product Innovation Management annually recognizes reviewers who have made exceptional contributions to the journal’s editorial process, reflecting constructive, insightful, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts.
