The Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), host of the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM), is announcing its annual research forum in Chicago. The JPIM Research Forum, powered by PDMA, is a premier research conference and proud to highlight JPIM, the leading academic journal for research on new product development (NPD) and innovation management.
Co-chairs welcome submissions regarding all aspects of NPD and innovation management to this important event. Submissions from all academic areas and all regions of the world are welcome.

Winners of the Best Paper and Best Student Paper receive feedback on their work regarding potential submission to the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM) from Prof. Gloria Barczak, JPIM Editor-in-Chief.

Professor of Healthcare Management, Strategy and Innovation

Sebastian Gurtner joined BFH in 2016 as a research professor with a focus on healthcare and innovation management. He leads the team strategy and innovation at BFH’s School of Business and serves as head of the executive education program Management in Healthcare Organizations. Sebastian’s research focuses on the creation of value with innovation and in this context especially on low-end innovation, social innovation and resistance against innovation. While his research tackles issues of several industries, the healthcare setting always receives special attention, as the challenges in healthcare are directly linked to the well-being of our society. He has published in a variety of peer reviewed academic journals such as the Journal of Product Innovation Management, Long Range Planning, Journal of Business Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Medical Decision Making and Health Care Management Review.

Haisu Zhang is Assistant Professor of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He holds a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Haisu’s research interests include product innovation, marketing strategy, and entrepreneurial behavior in the technology sector. His current research primarily focuses on open innovation in the data-rich environment and entrepreneurial financing (e.g., crowdfunding) for technological innovation. His work has been published at the Journal of Product Innovation Management, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of International Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, and Journal of Business Research. Haisu has been an active participant in the past JPIM Research Forum and won several awards, including Best Paper, Best Student Paper, and Best Reviewer.
