Jim Craig

What do Olympic ice hockey and innovation have in common?

Miracle-Man Jim Craig, goaltender for the US Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Team,  the 1980 “Miracle on Ice”, and President of Gold Medal Strategies, is the keynote speaker at the 2018 Competitive Edge Conference: Disrupting the Disrupters, powered by PDMA. Hear Jim’s inspiring story of how a group of amateur players, against all odds, pull off the greatest upset, and triumph over the Russian red army’s professional hockey team.

About Craig

An All-American athlete from Boston University, Craig started every game for the red, white, and blue as coach Herb Brooks led this band of collegians to a stunning upset of the Soviet Union, and a gold medal on the Olympic ice sheet. One of the enduring images of the 1980 Winter Games was of Craig, wrapped in the American flag, searching the stands for his widowed father in order to share the gold-medal-winning victory.

Following the Olympics, Craig played in the NHL for the Atlanta Flames, Boston Bruins, and Minnesota North Stars, before he suffered a career-ending injury. Today, Jim is the president and owner of Gold Medal Strategies, a motivational speaking and training company, traveling across the U.S. inspiring individuals and teams to be the best they can be, and emphasizing that anything is possible when you believe.
