The 2019 Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM) Annual Research Forum, powered by the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), seeks paper and poster submissions from scholars from all disciplines who share a common interest in new product development and innovation management. The conference will offer networking opportunities with innovation scholars, practitioners, the JPIM’s new Editorial Team and the PDMA community. Full papers, special topics proposals and early stage work are all welcome.

Corporate Entrepreneurship: Current Research Foci and Promising Research Directions

Product development activity is inherent to many corporate entrepreneurial processes. This talk will focus on describing two distinct domains of corporate entrepreneurship research where product development activities are core phenomena. These domains are entrepreneurial orientation research and internal corporate venturing research. Conceptual and definitional matters regarding these domains will be reviewed, followed by a presentation of key learnings from research in these domains. The talk will conclude with thoughts about promising future research directions in these specialized areas of corporate entrepreneurship and research designs that are needed to advance knowledge.

About Jeff Covin

Dr. Jeffrey G. Covin is the Samuel and Pauline Glaubinger Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. Professor Covin teaches in the areas of strategic management and management of technology. His research is principally focused in the area of corporate entrepreneurship. Professor Covin has over 100 refereed publications to his credit. He has served as Chair of the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at Indiana University and previously held the Hal and John Smith Chair of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management at Georgia Tech.

Winners of the Best Paper and Best Student Paper will receive feedback on their work regarding potential submission to the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM) from Prof. Charles Noble and Prof. Jelena Spanjol, JPIM Editors-in-Chief.
