Let's just not hire them

By: Michael Koppelmann on Jul 25, 2011

In my previous post 9 Essential Characteristics of an Innovation Candidate I attempted to break-in my new PDMA blog with a practical guide to what I have seen make up a great Innovation or Product Manager. As it was my first post I went through several iterations (agile is good and all of that) and in the end scaled back from 10 to 9 thinking the 10th was a tad negative.

Tonight I noticed the good folks over at the Cheezburger Network were not as shy and included my original number 10 as the top requirement for their new Mobile Product Manager. I would like to salute them. So whether you are building hardware, software, spacecraft or apps that deliver photos of cats, let’s all agree to do everyone a favor and hire the good guys.

We all have stories of the one that slipped past the interview process and wreaked havoc on the team dynamic, let's hear yours in the comments below..
