Logo: Relevant Design: Design thinking to transform business

On September 30, 2010, GA/PDMA will hold their 7th Annual Summit at the world headquarters of The Coca-Cola Company.  The half-day event, typically attended by over 275 new product development professionals and students, will include presentations from industry leading experts, an NPD roundtable for students, as well as the opportunity to see the latest resources and services available to product development professionals.

The theme for the 2010 Summit, Relevant Design, will focus on the impact that design thinking can make on business.  As businesses continue to implement growth strategies in a dynamic economy, how do they leverage alternative problem solving methods to meet people’s needs in a way that’s both technically feasible and commercially viable?

At the 2010 Summit, representatives from successful companies will share their strategies on how design thinking, innovation and action shaped their respective businesses.  Speakers include representatives from Lippincott (responsible for the new Walmart brand revitalization), The Coca-Cola Company and the new Freestyle™ Soda Dispensing Machine, and IDEO.

PDMA Mission Statement

PDMA's mission is to improve the effectiveness of people engaged in developing and managing new products - both new manufactured goods and new services.

This mission includes facilitating the generation of new information, helping convert this information into knowledge that is in a usable format, and making this new knowledge broadly available to those who might benefit from it.

A basic tenet of the Association is that enhanced product innovation represents a desirable and necessary economic goal for firms that wish to achieve and retain a profitable competitive advantage in the long term.

The Georgia chapter is dedicated to sharing knowledge of best practices and building a professional community of people and organizations that have a stake in the researching, establishing, and promoting of best practices in the broad areas of Product and Services Development and Management.

At our meetings throughout the year, PDMA provides you with the opportunity to learn new ideas and approaches from world-class product and service development organizations and network with other product development professionals.
